Become a Gl0tchbl0K S0undspons0R!
To all Sound-Music-Voice-Chip-Noise-Glitch-Benders and such!
Please give me a second!
We are building Gl0tchBloK Gl0tch arcade! to open on 1st of April at ZIMMT in Leipzig.
Gl0tchBl0K will be an installative gaming arcade featuring Gl0tchKons0les, Demented Reality Headgear, and all sorts of amazing stuff, embedded in a 360° bleeps’zzzrrrrcchhhtxxn’klonks sound installation.
Centrepiece will be a big footcontroller-platform of 8×8 squares that people can step on to glitch a circuit bent playstation2 via MIDI. Think park chess but think DanceDanceRevolution but think wtf. Oh yeah, there will also be a big projection.
It’s gonna look a little bit like this: https://schaefersimon.de/Gl0tchBl0k/
The Gl0tchbl0K-Footcontroller needs your sounds! There are 64 fields that each need a short sound to indicate its state. It will be looped while a field is active.
Please send exactly one .wav file with a length of one second or less of any content you consider appropriate to derwarst[at]der-warst[ding]de, with the subject S0undspons0R and a link to your website or bandcloud or whatever you like in the email.
Name the sample with your favourite number between 0 and 63 and your name.Like this:
(only don’t write der_warst, but your own name)
SEND ONLY ONE SAMPLE! THE BEST ONE! MAKE A CHOICE!
The first 64 to send something will be Soundsponsors of one of the squares. Their name will be displayed on the field with their chosen number and their sample will be heard when someone steps on the field, thus becoming an integral part of the work. If your field number is already taken, you’ll get another one close to it.
This is an art project without any commercial interests. I just thought it would be fun to do.
Obviously, ou’ll have to agree to have your real or artist name appear in the artwork and any documentation thereof.
Thank you for your second.
Here’s which squares are already taken and which ones are still free, I’ll try to update the grid as quickly as possible:
